The story of the Obama Legacy on immigration is being defined by the President's own actions. It will be remembered in policy briefs and in law books. But more than anything, it will live most vividly in the hearts, minds and stories of millions of men, women and, especially, the children of the Obama era. With only two years left in his Administration, President Obama owns an immigration legacy that remains an extraordinarily tragic one: mass deportations, shattered families, militarized communities and much more. In the hopes of raising the kind of awareness that alters not just legacies but destinies, the Obama Legacy project will tell the the human and factual story of the President's immigration record, especially as it impacts Latino immigrants and their communities. With so much at stake, we call for a shift in trajectory, a new beginning. We call for an end to all deportations, as a critical first step. And we look forward to joining others in making the Obama Legacy one of peace and prosperity for all 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the United States.
